Quaker Canada Recalls Granola Bars and Cereals Over Salmonella Concerns

Quaker Canada has issued a voluntary recall of certain granola bars and Harvest Crunch cereals due to a possible salmonella contamination. This recall follows a similar action by the Quaker Oats Company in the United States and is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of Canadian consumers. Salmonella, a bacterium, can cause symptoms like diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. While most people recover without treatment, it can be severe and require hospitalization, especially in vulnerable groups like the elderly, infants, and those with weakened immune systems.

The products, distributed across Canada, should not be consumed. Consumers are advised to check their pantries and dispose of any items listed in the recall. For further information, product reimbursement, or queries, customers can contact Quaker Consumer Relations at 1-800-532-4004 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST, from Monday to Friday, or visit www.QuakerRecall.ca. Quaker Canada is collaborating with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to remove the affected products from the market.

For a detailed list of affected products read more here.
